Children's Charter Launch

The official public launch of the Tri-Cities Children's Charter of Rights took place on April 18, 2018. It was sponsored by the United Way of the Lower Mainland and the Ministry of Children and Family Development. During this launch event, Ann Johannes (ECD and MCM Coordinator) presented the official Tri-Cities Children's Charter of Rights that was added to the Tri-Cities Children's Accord in 2016.

We celebrated how the Tri-Cities have already successfully addressed the 12 Rights through service offerings, city planning, and more. We introduced an action plan that outlined how the rights were currently being addressed and included areas of focus for the future. Before and after the official presentation, there was an opportunity to watch some of our partners in action making a difference in children's lives via an activity zone for kids.

We look forward to working together across the multiple sectors to afford children their rights and expanding on what is already being done towards the healthy development and future well-being of children in our communities.

Thank you, Principal Sean Della Vedova, for hosting the event at Pinetree Way Elementary School.
